Professional mental health support

Therapy can help!

It is absolutely normal to struggle with mental health issues – in fact, at least half of us have to deal with a psychological problem in our lifetime. The good news is that (psycho)therapy is effective in tackling many of these difficulties – often even more so than medication.

My goal is to provide my clients with waiting-list free access to professional psychological help in a language they are comfortable speaking.

Individual sessions (Rotterdam and Online)

I am an English, Russian and Lithuanian-speaking psychologist. My clients come from all over the Netherlands and beyond. I mostly work with expats — adults and older adolescents (16+ y.) — guiding and supporting them in working through whatever difficulties they are currently facing. These might include feelings of loneliness, anxiety, fear, depression, low self-esteem and more. Together we look at what is happening now, work to understand why it is happening, and decide how we can make it better.

My methods

In my work, I make use of different methods and schools of thought. I am mainly trained in

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
  • Schema therapy
  • Mindfulness-based methods
  • Acceptance & Commitment therapy (ACT)

Online or in-person?

I provide both online and in-person sessions. Studies and my personal experience show that both types of therapy can be equally effective. However, when choosing, it is important to consider several factors, such as having a (safe) space where nobody will disturb you and having a good internet connection if find here Psychologist Rotterdam.

Insurance, and reimbursement

Psychological counselling. Unfortunately, right now it is not possible to get a reimbursement for psychology sessions from the Dutch health system. However, I am a member of the Dutch Association of Psychologists (Het Nederlands Instituut van Psychologen; NIP). This allows my clients to get reimbursements from international health insurance companies (for example, JSIS offers a partial reimbursement).

What My Clients say

"Aleksandr is truly a wonderful and kind-hearted human being, and I am very grateful that I made the decision to email him and to start my journey with him. I am truly happy to have such a great therapist on my side and would definitely recommend him to everyone who is as anxious as I was in the beginning."
